Federal Judge Declined Trump’s Lawsuit against NY Attorney General

Judge Brenda Sannes dismissed Donald Trump’s suit to block the fraud investigation into the Trump Organization.

In 2021, Former US President Donald Trump sued Letitia James for political bias detected within his real estate business investigation. Since James is a Democrat and Trump is a Republican, Trump claimed that James “is using her office’s power to serve her own political interests.” The New York Attorney General argued that Trump misled banks and tax authorities about his assets.

In the order, federal judge Brenda Sannes mentioned that there was “no evidence” that James’ investigation was unlawful and politically biased. Trump’s statements were rejected, and the authorities will continue investigating the Trump Organization. “While Defendant’s public statements make clear that she disagrees vehemently with Mr. Trump’s political views, Plaintiffs do not identify what protected speech or conduct Defendant allegedly retaliated against them for or demonstrate any causal connection between any such protected activity and the decision to commence the subpoena enforcement proceeding.”

The Supreme Court of the State of New York ruled that Donald Trump’s children should be interrogated regarding the Trump Organization activity during the investigation.
