Ukraine Takes Russia to the UN Highest Court of Justice in The Hague
On March 7, the International Court of Justice held a hearing on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, however, without Russia’s presence.
Russian representatives ignored the hearing at the UN highest court thus boycotting Ukraine’s demands to stop the fire across the country.
According to The Washington Post, thirty-nine states have referred to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate all war crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine. To enable ICC to level a charge against Russia, a Russian president or, at least, a state official should be present at the hearings. As a result, the charged party will be arrested by the state government or outside Russia.

Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine on February 24, Russia still has been explaining its actions on the Ukrainian territory as an “end to stop ‘genocide’ against pro-Russian separatists in the country’s [Ukraine] east.” Numerous videos have already proved that the “genocide” is being performed towards Ukrainians themselves, including civil citizens and children.
The International Court of Justice in The Hague will give its final verdict on Wednesday, March 16.
