As an attorney at the Sammis Law Firm, I represent clients charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses throughout the Tampa Bay area. I am a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL), and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL). Additionally, I am an attorney on the NORML Legal Committee which fights for the reform of marijuana laws in Florida and throughout the country. I graduated with Honors from the University of Florida College of Law in Gainesville, Florida, in 1999, and served as Vice Chair on the Executive Board for the UF Justice Campbell Thornal Moot Court Board. I completed internships at the State Attorney's Office for the Fourth Judicial Circuit prosecuting cases in the felony division, and the United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division, working with federal prosecutors. I also completed a federal judicial internship with the Honorable Henry Lee Adams, Jr., United States District Judge, for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division. After gaining valuable trial experience working with state and federal prosecutors, I became an Assistant Public Defender in the Fourth Judicial Circuit in Florida defending individuals charged with misdemeanor, juvenile, and felony offenses. I co-founded the Sammis Law Firm in 2008 where I continue to focus on criminal defense and civil asset forfeiture. Today, the firm has grown to 5 attorneys, 4 paralegals, and an intake coordinator.
